Upper Mustang Trek

It`s a very rare and privileged opportunity to trek in Upper Mustang. You can get
the very true life of the real mountain experience in that region. It's look like a
similar to trekking in to Tibet because which geographically it is part of.
It is the forbidden kingdom trek in the Nepal Himalaya. The capital of this region
is Lo-manthang. This trek was closed until 1991 for foreigners because Nepal
didn`t want this region to be influenced by western culture. After 1991 this trek has
been made open for the foreign tourist.
The Upper Mustang trek has been on isolation for thousand years and this has kept
the heritage, culture and lifestyle to remain unchanged for centuries up to date. The
houses found there are mostly made from sun baked mud bricks and stones. Some
of the beautiful architectures found in Mustang region are city wall and the four
storey palace in Lo-Mangthang.
On this trek, you will spend 2 nights in Lo - Manthang; the day of arrival in Lo -
Manthang you will visit the palace and the second day you will go for hiking to
Chosar Cave, an impressive castle. As an alternative option you can also do a horse
riding for day tour.
Lo-Manthang is through high altitude desert country climbing in and out of the
huge sided valley of the Kali Gandaki. Nesting on the Tibetan boarder, this region
is dominated by giants Annapurna, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri massif. Which is situated
at the head of the Kali Gandaki in north central Nepal the little known district of
Mustang is naturally and culturally attractive.

Kingdom of Mustang targeting TIJI festival a three days long ritual one of the most
important festival of the region. Over the festive time monks dressed in elaborate

Day 01 : Arrival Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
Day 02 : Day tour of Kathmandu Heritage sites
Day 03 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (900m).
Day 04 : Flight Pokhara - Jomsom (2720m), and trek to Kagbeni (2810m)
Day 05 : Trek to Samar (3660m, 6-7 hours walking)
Day 06 : Trek to Geling (3570m, 5 - 6 hours walking)
Day 07 : Trek to Tsarang (3560m, 6-7 hours walking)
Day 08 : Trek to Lo - Manthang (3809m, 4 hours walking).
Day 09 : Exploration day in Lo - Manthang and visit to Chosar Cave
Day 10 : Trek to Ghemi 3520m, 5 - 6 hours walking.
Day 11 : Trek to Samar (3660m, 6 - 7 hours).
Day 12 : Trek to Jomsom (6 - 7 hours walking).
Day 13 : Flight, Jomsom - Pokhara .
Day 14 : Drive back to Kathmandu 
Day 15 : Final departure to airport, end trip
