A moderately difficult walk through some of Nepal's most breathtaking scenery, the Everest base camp hike offers a glimpse into the mountain Buddist culture and traditional Sherpa village monasteries.

The Everest Base Camp Trek gives you the chance to discover Sherpa culture and capture some of the world's best scenery. The adventure also features challenging terrain such as glacial moraines and the adrenaline-pumping steep climbs of Kala Patthar. If hiking to the EBC, allow approximately 3-4 hours of hiking each day of your trip. Moderate physical fitness is required. After exploring historic Kathmandu, take a short flight to the mountain village of Lukla (altitude 2800m). Trek through the stunning mix and showy vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park to the Sherpa 'capital' of Namche Bazaar. This is an interesting, bustling and friendly city, and surprisingly, even remote outposts and altitudes that communicate with the outside world so that almost anything under the sky can communicate from your location. Namche was once a trading post between Nepal and Tibet. Here you will acclimate for a day and head to the beautiful Changboche Monastery. At this peaceful landmark, we find ourselves among the Mani walls and prayer flags, whispering devotional songs to the gods for deceased souls and chortens. And soon you find yourself in the shadow of the majestic Everest Massif and Ama Dablam. Breathtaking. The trek from Chanboche climbs slowly but steadily to Dingboche, Lobuche and finally Gorek Shep, crossing the treeline and entering a harsher, lunar-like environment. Gorek Shep is actually the highest point we will stay at 5100m and we will take our time to reach this altitude after acclimatization. I am going on an afternoon trip. Drive past stunning glacier formations and enjoy the triumph of getting this far.

Everest Base Camp Trek

The Three Passes Trek in the Everest region of Nepal is a challenging and rewarding trek that takes hikers through three high mountain passes: Kongma La Pass (5,535 meters/18,159 feet), Cho La Pass (5,420 meters/17,782 feet), and Renjo La Pass (5,340 meters/17,520 feet). This trek takes you through the heart of the Everest region, offering spectacular views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The trek also provides a chance to experience the unique culture and way of life of the Sherpa people, who have lived in the region for centuries.

The trek begins in Lukla and takes you through the Dudh Kosi River Valley to Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village in the region. From there, the trail takes you through small villages, lush forests, and high-altitude deserts, gradually gaining altitude as you head towards the first pass, Kongma La. From the top of Kongma La, you will have a panoramic view of many peaks, including the south face of Mount Everest.

After descending from Kongma La, you will head towards the Cho La pass. The trail is steep, rocky and exposed to glaciers, so good physical fitness and proper gear are necessary. The view from the top of the Cho La pass is an spectacular one, with the panoramic view of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang and many others. After crossing Cho La pass, the trail leads to Gokyo valley, also offers the chance to view the Gokyo Lakes, which are a series of glacial lakes that are considered sacred by the local people.

Finally, you will cross the Renjo La Pass and head back to Lukla to end the trek. This trek takes around 18-20 days depending on the route and itinerary.
It is considered a challenging trek due to the altitude and the physical demands of the passes, so it is recommended for experienced hikers in good physical condition.
